In an all-members meeting today, NTEU members passed a motion to place a ban on attending campus from Friday, July 7, to Tuesday, July 11; place a ban on teaching in Week 2 (July 17 to July 21 inclusive); hold a 24-hour strike on Thursday, July 20.

Members passed two motions calling on Deakin NTEU members to commence a range of industrial actions. Additional public holidays are not granted off the back of Deakin’s kindness—rather, they are the outcome of a recent Full Federal Court decision on requirements to work public holidays.
The NTEU Deakin Branch is pleased to announce that Deakin staff have voted no to Deakin’s proposed enterprise agreement.
